Pondering Brokeback

"Can't Stand It"

date: May 10, 2008

Dirty humor is most often times funny, but when you combine gay cowboys, microsoft sam, a gay floating eyeball and a picture of a bull taking a dump, you've completely lost the funny.

Tip: Try again. This time, please try to put a script together.

Everybody loves a little random violence. Even if it is short, crude, and not-so-gorey.

I wish I had the time to make a flash when I had free time. Sadly, it's spent playing and rating them and for THAT you should be happy. 9.

The armor RPG experiment

"Everybody's a Critic"

date: May 10, 2008

And I'm no exception.

*Disclaimer: (no hate, please) All following information is purely summed up by me and me only. If this flash is susceptible to spoilers, my review may contain spoilers.*

Pros of the game:
-Nice graphic detail. Quite a bit of time went into this.
-Decent arsenal. Weapons! Shiny ones. Everybody loves options.
-Nice leveling system. Options, options, options! Everybody likes to take the character they are using and tweak it to be their own little creation.

Cons of the game:
-Enemies seem to do a *wide*/random number of damage. On attack will deal me 120 damage and the next will do 7.
-It's not just hard or insane - It's discouraging! Even with the Power Up/Defense Up/Magic Up skills, I still seem to die more often than my enemy does.
-Things could use a little needle and thread. Tidy things up a bit. Example: I noticed there was 3 different upgrades that allowed you to cast Auto Life more than once. Why not stack them all into one, making things a little neater and possibly more efficient? I know it would be a pain in the ass, but it's just something to think about if you ever go back and make updates or create a sequel.

-*note* If the Power Up, etc. was something of a 'last minute' add on to make gameplay a little more fair, please reconsider. While you are waisting turns increasing your attack and defense, the enemy is steady and strong at HACKING away your HP. By the time you can deal decent damage, you're already halfway dead.

Overall, I'm going to continue playing. In my opinion, this game is still better than most others despite the endless torture of restarting a battle, only to die again.

The Armor RPG Experiment is an 8.

Epics of Distant Realm

"Spoof"

date: May 10, 2008

I like the game, because this game happens to be in my favorite genre.

But Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion are both better games, which you've somewhat stolen your aspect from. I know Bethesda makes badass games, but do you have to steal their sounds? Every sound I hear is from Elder Scrolls. The Fire Spell, Lightning Spell, Healing Spell, Attack, Taking damage... All from Elder Scrolls 3. As for the music everyone else is talking about; yes, it is from Oblivion.

I'm not sure if Bethesda has any legal rights over the sounds you've put into your game or not. Either way, it's a tad distasteful.

I applaud the game itself, though. Well made.

Just try to be original. Make it a game *you* create and not something you try to remake in a flash - and if I'm wrong, sorry. But hey, it's nice to see another ES fan.

"Yes but No"

I like games of this concept, combining card play with RPG styles, but you don't get to level up enough. If you're a Wizard (which I was) you get demolished in the third round, regardless of what you put your exp into or what you buy. You've got to get lucky.

Last thing, the noises are very annoying. Not just that, but they don't sound real. Getting a good axe cleaving to the face doesn't make the sound of a whip hitting a horse.

This game looks like it's only half done.

PALADIN: the Game

"Very Nice"

submission: PALADIN: the Game
date: May 9, 2008

One of my current favorites, mostly because of the versatility in the leveling system. Good storyline too, which either means the author has a creative and talented mind or good taste in movies. Also, nice graphics.

Downside to this game is the flying is a little difficult to get used to, making archers a bit of a pain in the ass.

Another downside is the lack of weapons and armor, even if the current equipment doesn't look good enough.

Revenge of the Stick

"Creative!"

The stickmen have become something of a cheap classic over the era of Flash.

This game takes the classic and gives it a new reason to be played. Very nice.

It's a nice game, even if it is a tad bland with all the exploding of shapes.

Just a few things to think about if you plan on making improvements on the game:

A pause button would be enjoyable. I've never had to pee so bad in my life, so eventually I just got up and ran.

Upgrades. Everybody likes upgrades.

And last but not least; possible customization. Everybody likes to make their own little 'character' and tweak it to be their own creation to be proud of. Ever wonder why people post their stats in the comment box? Yeah, it's that effective.

Okay, done writing reviews. I'm going to play it some more.

Yet another top scrolling RPG.
As much as I love RPG games, I'd rather not play from a perspective where I can't see anything but dirt. Yay dirt!
